EastEnders’ Jay Brown actor Jamie Borthwick and Strictly Come Dancing professional Jowita Przystal have been hit with dating rumours for months after meeting on the BBC show

Strictly Come Dancing’s Jamie Borthwick and Jowita Przystal were spotted looking quite smitten with each other when they were photographed in London last week – with rumours the pair are dating.

The EastEnders actor and professional dancer, both aged 30, are speculated to be in a relationship after meeting on the BBC dance show’s Christmas special two years ago.

The pair were seen outside the Adelphi Theatre in the capital, where they had come to watch Strictly stars Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu in their production of Reborn.

They were all smiles as they embraced in the April sunshine.

Sporting tortoiseshell sunglasses and a brown leather blazer, Jowita wrapped her arms around Jamie, who hugged the Polish dancer tightly and affectionately nuzzled her neck, laughing, as they headed into the theatre.

Jamie and Jowita first met on the Christmas special of Strictly in 2023, when the Jay Brown actor was declared the winner alongside Nanxy Xu.

Despite being paired with different partners, it is said that sparks began to fly backstage before Jamie and Jowita reportedly embarked on a secret romance.

Nearly two years after their initial meeting, the duo have continued to grow closer during the Strictly tour across the UK, reports the Mirror.

At present, Jamie is partnered with dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, while Jowita is part of the professional dancers line-up.

Last year, she made it to the semi-final with reality star Pete Wicks, who has previously commented on the strong bond between the actor and the Polish dancer.

Sources have suggested that the duo became close during their time on the BBC One dancing show, with Jowita reportedly being drawn to the Jay Brown actor’s charm.

“Things did get romantic between them, Jowita loves Jamie’s playfulness and sense of humour, not to mention he’s a very talented dancer,” an insider revealed.

The source continued to MailOnline: “So many rumours were circulating about Jowita and Pete that her relationship with Jamie went under the radar, which was something they laughed about.

“They’re still enjoying each other’s company as they perform on the Strictly tour, with the cast believing their romance could well lead to something long-term.”

The pair, who are rumoured to be in high spirits, were spotted together heading out for dinner at Miller and Carter in Sheffield, near where the Strictly tour group was staying following their show.

In the meantime, Jowita’s recent dance partner, Pete Wicks, broached the topic of their closeness on his Staying Relevant podcast.

“I have a question for you, I think I have asked you this before but you have to answer. You have to answer this. Don’t sit on the fence or do any of that crap, I want to know,” he pressed when Jowita joined him on the podcast.

The reality TV personality, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, further pressed: “If you weren’t dancing with me, who would you want to dance with… and it doesn’t have to be who’s left, it could be people who have gone. Don’t sit on the fence, answer the f****** question.”

He went on to ask: “If you couldn’t dance with me, who would you like to dance with? I know the answer to this… 100 per cent, Jamie.”

Jowita then acknowledged that Jamie would “probably” have been her pick, having known him before the latest series commenced, and mentioned that they “get on very well.”

Pete chimed in: “I said this to you at the weekend actually but you and Jamie would have been great, you get on really well with him and you would have had lots of fun with him and Jamie is a really good dancer, so cool..”
