Britain’s Got Talent viewers slammed what was branded the show’s ‘quickest ever Golden Buzzer act’ during Saturday’s show.
Singer Maya Giotea, 14, from Romania blew the judges away with her rendition of Beyonce‘s hit Listen from the movie Dreamgirls, with Bruno Tonioli, 69, pressing the buzzer and sending her through to the semi-finals in record time.
The schoolgirl received a standing ovation with former Strictly star running up on stage to embrace her, gushing: ‘This was the most mature, accomplished version of this song that I’ve heard from someone so young’.
Meanwhile fellow judge Amanda Holden, 54, declared: ‘That must be the quickest Golden Buzzer in BGT history’.
However some fans were less impressed and were quick to point out the Maya had already competing on her home country’s version of the show.
During her appearance on Romania’s Got Talent last year Maya sung Whitney Houston‘s I Have Nothing, where she again received a Golden Buzzer.

Taking to X they fumed: ‘She also got the Golden Buzzer on Romania’s Got Talent, last year… go figure’: ‘Yet again been on Romania’s Got Talent and Got the Golden Buzzer even though there is none left’.
‘Maya Giotea who got the Golden Buxzer on BGT tonight was on Romania’s Got Talent and got through to the live shows’: ‘So Tonight BGT so far has Maya from Romania’s Go Talent and Alexandra from Canada’s Got Talent’.
Earlier in the show magician Alexandra Burgio, who was another star with a secret TV past, impressed viewers and judges alike with her act.
The Canadian illusionist entered with her mouth taped, before doing the same to judge Simon Cowell, only to later make words miraculously appear on the indie of the gags to wild applause from the audience.
The leather-clad stunner received a whopping four yeses from Simon, 65, Amanda, 54, Bruno, 69, and Alesha Dixon, 46, sailing through to the next round.
But Alexandra is also no novice in front of a Got Talent judging panel, after having already made a name for herself on TV.
The magician previously appeared on her native Canada‘s version of the show and made it all the through to the semi-finals in 2024.
She also competed on fellow iIllusionists Penn and Teller’s US show Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2023.

In 2022 it was claimed that one in four Britain’s Got Talent acts are ‘recycled’ from other shows or have links to Simon and other show talent.
Of the 60 acts that have been shown on television that year, 15 have either appeared on another series from the Got Talent franchise, are linked to head judge Simon or someone else linked to the shows, or are already ‘professional’, according to The Sun.
The likes of American singer Loren Allred is the voice of the hit song Never Enough from the 2017 film The Greatest Showman, while soul singer Mel Day achieved chart success as the lead vocalist of J.A.L.N. Band in the US and UK with 1976 track Disco Music (I Like It).
Elsewhere in Saturday’s show one act left a judge speechless when their shocking family connection was revealed.
The judging panel and audience were unable to look away when a mysterious hooded figure named The Tormentor took to the stage to audition.
The creepy figure, who spoke with a deep altered voice, wore a long dark hooded ensemble and a shiny gold mask, hiding their identity.
They explained their act was going to make one person ‘face their fears’ and quickly got judge KSI up into a chair on the stage.

The 31-year-old YouTuber and boxer was blindfolded and taunted by the figure, as he shocked KSI by revealing details about him that no one would know.
The eerie act told the audience that the judge had a crush on a girl called Rhiannon at school and recalled how he ‘cried for days’ when he realised she didn’t like him back.
The mysterious person then went on to make KSI listen to his own music as a hilarious form of punishment, before bringing out a box of bugs, which are his greatest fear.
KSI was left screaming and begging the act not to bring them near him as he proceeded to tickle him – but the real shock came when The Tormentor revealed their identity.
The last part of the performance saw them whip off their mask and reveal it was actually KSI’s younger brother Deji, 28, leaving the judge lost for words.
He ran over to press his red buzzer and told his brother to ‘get out,’ while the other judges found the ordeal hilarious.
