Patsy Palmer recently walked into the Celebrity Big Brother house, but the former BBC EastEnders star is lookng ahead at what she’ll do after Albert Square.
Once leaving the ITV reality TV show, Patsy is unsure what she will do next, both in front of and away from the cameras.
She will be with her husband, Richard Merkell, and four children as she returns to her home in Los Angeles.
She has been based in LA for more than a decade, meaning she was recently caught in the middle of the devastating fires that ripped through the city.
While her home is still intact, most of her neighbourhood has been destroyed.
Patsy said: “I think that even living out there gives you a perspective because it’s just so beautiful. But now obviously it’s all been shattered lately because of the fires.
“Everything is burnt. My place was okay, but my neighbour’s house completely burned to the ground. So we will be here more this summer, for sure.
“Or in Europe. It’s had a massive impact. I don’t really know yet because I’ve been working here, and I haven’t been home. So I don’t know till I get home.
“But my husband said it’s going to be pretty hard. People have lost everything and they probably still have mortgages, yet they have nothing. It’s heartbreaking.”
“I just think that I’ve been grateful for the life I’ve had. I’ve never been one of those people who go out and grab things, I wish I was.
“But I’ve always been like, ‘If this job comes in, great’, I’m grateful and then all the rest of the time you’re at home with the kids. I think having such a nice marriage, you know what I mean?
“It’s just all of it really. I’m just grateful now in life that we’re all still here and everyone’s not gone completely off their heads! I just feel like now, in my 50s, this is my time to be me, to be whatever I want.”
