Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has spoken out on the speculation she is engaged to Joe Sugg after she was seen wearing a ring on social media

Strictly Come Dancing’s own Dianne Buswell faced some unexpected questioning during her stint on Monday’s edition of Good Morning Britain. While the pro dancer graced the morning show to chat about her imminent tour alongside Vito Coppola, the chit-chat took a swift turn towards her love life.

The ever-curious Susanna Reid didn’t hesitate to delve into the swirling engagement whispers surrounding Dianne after eagle-eyed fans noticed an intriguing ring on her social media shares. Dianne has been in a relationship with Joe Sugg since 2018. Susanna seized her chance, pressing: “I want to ask you because there was a lot of speculation about the fact that you might have got engaged over the last couple of days!” as Ed Balls told her: “Congratulations”.

Amid the teasing banter, Dianne let out a scream before spilling the beans: “It’s a really funny story! I was in Australia and it’s quite hot over there”, reports Wales Online.

“I had just flown in and my fingers get a little bit swollen on the plane. So, I had a couple of rings on my right hand, which I do. But, because they were swollen, I had to take them off, and I put them on my left hand.”

Dianne confessed she didn’t know the hand she had swapped her rings to was the one people use when they get engaged.

She added: “I’m taking pictures with my family and I put them online so everyone thought I was engaged. I’m not engaged.”

Jokingly acting as if he was outraged, host Ed Balls issued a response to her partner Joe. He commented: “Joseph, what are you doing? What’s he doing, seriously?”

Dianne replied: “I know! Joe!” The pair were laughing at the mishap as the Strictly star admitted the blunder was a funny story.

BBC fans first saw Dianne and Joe together when they were partnered up on Strictly back in 2018. After finishing as runners-up, the duo confirmed their relationship at the end of 2018 with a sweet social media post.
